More than 17 Chinese academicians and over 100 outstanding young scientists from home and abroad also attended the Forum. The 1st WLF set several sub-forums including Photon Science and Industry Forum, Life Sciences and Industry Forum, New Drug Discovery and Translational Forum, Brain Science and Artificial Intelligence Forum, and Young Scientists Forum. Participants conducted in-depth discussions on the latest research progress of world laureates, on the forecast of global frontier science and technology innovations, and on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
In 2019, the 2nd WLF invited 65 prize-winners from 16 countries, among them 44 Nobel Laureates. More than 30 Chinese academicians, and over 200 outstanding young scientists from home and abroad also attended the Forum. Li Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, read the congratulatory letter from Xi Jinping, President of PRC. In order to achieve the mission of advocating for science worldwide, and promoting the growth of young scientists and cross-border scientific cooperation, the Forum set up three sub-forums: “Mobius Forum”, Future “Big Science” Forum, and Young Scientists Forum. Meanwhile, there were several featured summits under the theme of Artificial Intelligence Algorithms, Brain Science and Neurodegenerative Diseases, New Drug Discovery and Translational Medicine, Life Sciences, Carbon-hydrogen Bond and Novel Chemistry, New Energy and New Materials, Black Hole and Aerospace Technology and Economics and Finance.
